So basically my eyes are kinda green on the outside, then theres a thin ring of blue, and then they change do a deep gold in the middle. the size of these rings vary, for instance one day my eyes could be mostly green, or blue, but usually not completely gold. its usually green on the outside, then a thin layer if blue then gold on the inside. so what color eye do you callthat? its kinda like these eyes and i would put a picture of my own but i dont know how. so no this isnt me. im a guy anyway haha.

Iam just wondering whether this prominent redness is very serious matter and can they be reduced? I dont feel any pain or itchyness of the eyes at the moment.|||Just get it checked out with your doctor.|||If you wear contacts then its a danger sign of overwear. In that case get your contacts out and go see the optician. Otherwise go and get a checkup with the doctor.

-From the eye drops that dilate your eyes?|||I went through that yesterday, for the first time (and I’m 55). It sucked. I got them dilated about 10:20 in the am, and I was good to go about 5 hours later.|||Interestingly enough, the amount of time it takes you to recover from getting dilated at an eye exam is dependent on your eye color.Darker colored eyes recover faster, lighter colored eyes take longer.

I’m a 2nd year optometry student and have brown eyes. And last semester, I was dilated 3-4 times a week for my classmates to practice some procedures. My near vision recovers in 1 hour and my pupils return to their normal state in 3-4 hours.

I want a whole idea on how much the fitting, contact order, and monthly/weekly cost of contacts. (Without insurance).|||If you go to your local optometrist, they will get your prescription level with an eye test, give you a "temporary" pair of that prescription, let you wear them for about 4 hours or so to make sure you are comfortable with them(they will put them in for you and show you how to clean/put them in/take them out. That should cost anywhere from around 70-120 dollars, then you can order in from whatever brand you want….I use acuvue2 contact’s which is pretty standard, i get a years supply(12 pairs, you use them for a month and then dispose of them each month) for about 300 bucks…with solution and cases and evverything in TOTAL, you’re looking at about 400 dollars or so to get fully set up and resourced for the year…You don’t have to dispose of them each month though, i usually get about 2 months worth of one pair, but no longer than that or they start to hurt your eyes…just rinse them every day and make sure you don’t go to sleep with them in and keep them maintained and you can easilly get 2 year’s out of them for the same price…Get some price quote’s, they have sale special’s and whatnot so it might be cheaper than my quote, but that’s the standard price…the actual contacts themselve’s go for about 20 dollars a pair. Hope that help’s, good luck|||I would say that if you have monthly disposables and use them every day you need to throw them out whether they are uncomfortable or not. This is because they will not be transmitting enough oxygen to your eye and over time that is VERY dangerous to your eyesight and your ability to wear contacts. The contacts might also be more expensive than the other poster has said depending on your perscription. Contacts for astigmatism (torics) tend to be more expensive. Some types of lens are more expensive as well, although those can be more comfortable but better for dry eyes etc. Also allow a percentage extra in case there are unexpected problems and you need to have extra appointments for the health of your eyes.

It is beginning to annoy me.|||Try the pharmacists and he or she will either recommend some eye drops or tell you to see the doctor. most likely the second option so you might as well see you GP straight away. Don’t take chances with eyes|||As long as there is no discharge the itcheyness should go away. The more you rub it the more irritated it will get and you will want to rub it more. If your getting a sticky discharge go to your doctor as it could be conjunctivitis. Eaisily cleared but very contagious|||When the cornea, the front of the eye is sore or dry, it can become itchy. If you rub your eye it will irritated it even more.

You could try a cold compress on the eye to make it feel better, but if it doesn’t improve, you need to get some eye drops for it from the chemist.|||Could just be an annoying itch or could be an infection. Stupid as it sounds try not to scratch it – the skin around your eye is very delicate

I just picked up my glasses from the optometrist. The sales lady showed me the glasses and said ‘these are didstance glasses, not for reading.’ I said, I needed reading glasses, and the sales lady spoke to the optemetrist who said that the glasses were for everything, and reading in them was fine.

Now I’m at home, getting a headache trying to read through the glasses, (I read about 10 hours a day for work) and I know it takes time to get used to new glasses but I’m wondering, since I only wear my glasses for reading, if I have the right ones or if the optometrist just said what he said so he wouldn’t have to return them. any help???|||You need to post your perscription here. Distance glasses might mean you have an astigmatism and then they would help with reading. It could also be that you are holding the book to close. When you need distance glasses you can hold things closer to your eye than normal sighted people can and you tend to do this when reading so you can see the print. When you get glasses you are in the position of a normal sighted person and may need to move the book back. Took me ages to get the hang of this one as I had been in the habit of reading with teh book 2 inches from my face.

Posting your perscription will help the opticians who post to advise you. Headaches aren’t a normal thing of getting used to a new perscription. However if the frames are heavy or uncomfortable then that can be an effect. I also used to find that glare made headaches worse in offices before they brought out anti-glare coatings.|||If you get vision doubling when reading I’d take the glasses straight back to the optometrist. That is not correct at all.|||As a quick tix, pick up a pair of cheap reading glasses from the dollar store and either place them in front of the distance glasses, or get them strong enough to use by themselves.Or their are clip on reading glasses that you can use.

You also might be a good person for bifocals or progressive glasses.I use progressive with good results and also have farsightedness and astigmatism.|||What is your prescription? Right and left. Are you wearing a no line bifocal /progressive? Lined bifocal? How old are you? Is this your first pair of glasses? Do you have your previous prescription if its not your first pair? Seems like a lot of questions but all those things tell eye professional a lot about a patient and their needs. |||If you are shortsighted (you can’t see far objects), then you should use glasses for distance activities. You shouldn’t use distance glasses for near work such as reading if you can see the words clearly unaided.

it is as if my right eye is half asleep or something, objects are just fuzzy and i have no idea why this is happening, i am 24 yr old female. This happens sometimes but never lasts this long, usually a small rub to the eye would do the trick|||sounds like your eye is slightly dry. The rub tends to get the tear film back. I’d suggest you look at dry eye adn keep some eye drops close to hand.

. It has been two years since my last pair and I know it is time for a new pair. I went and had my eyes examined and received my new pair 2 weeks later. Upon putting them on I noticed immediate discomfort. I did a bit of research and saw that it is not uncommon for this to happen for the first few days. I regularly wore my glasses until today (the 4th day). I was out and about and the feeling of being cross eyed and headache brought on with it was too much, it kept me from focusing on what I was doing. So I switched back to my old prescription. Did I do so prematurely? The pain was so hard to deal with, I wouldn’t think that anything this severe is normal.|||New glasses sometimes take a while to get used to but, if after 4 days, they are still so uncomfortable that you can’t even function with them on, I would say at least call the place where you got them and try to arrange to have them double check that the prescription is correct.|||Because its probably been so long your eyes are used to the new prescription. I know when I had got my new prescription for my glasses, everything looked weird and it gave me a headache also. You have to give your eyes time to get used to the new prescription.
